Dear Bonita,
I'm 17 and a girl.  I have a lot of stuffed animals. I like stuffedf animals. I like to cuddle them because they make me feel loved and secure. People think I'm weird because I have so many and like them so much. Is a stuffed animal obsession okay to have?

Dear Ginny,
Generally speaking  obsessions are not desirable.  However, I would much prefer you have an obsession for stuffed animals, if they make you feel loved and secure, than an obsession for boys, if you were seeking to have the boys make you feel loved and secure.  Stuffed animals will never make you pregnant, they are accepting of your faults, they are excellent listeners, and they don't ever dump you. I do encourage you to talk with someone you trust about why it is you prefer inanimate objects over people. People can sometimes be rather disappointing, but sometimes also richly rewarding.
